Ceramic Glazing and Raku Firing Workshop with Artisan in Residence: Trish Gianakis

Join Trish Gianakis as you learn, hands-on, the history and process of Raku style pottery. Paint, fire and take home your own masterpiece.

The day will consist of two sessions, with a break from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • 9 to 10 a.m.: choose and paint the pottery
  • 1 to 4 p.m. firing the pottery “RAKU style”

Ages 8 and up only.

About Trish Gianakis:

Trish Gianakis is a full-time Professor at Saint Peter’s University teaching in the Fine Arts Department in Jersey City, and adjunct professor for FIT’s Unity XR: AR, MR, VR Development Certificate Program. She is a sculptor, published poet, and teacher of private art lessons/workshops at her studio in Stirling, NJ.

Her fine art has been exhibited across the country. Recent exhibits include: 2021 International Online Exhibition, “The Endangered”; She has a page on artsy.net; SOLO, 2020 “Elements of Emotion” at Casa Colombo in Jersey City; 2019 “The Virginia Project” invited among 14 women artists to create art based on Tina Barry’s poems about Virginia Haggard, Marc Chagall’s lover, and her daughter Jean McNeil exhibition at LIU Humanities Gallery, Brooklyn, NY and Wired Gallery, NY; 2019 “14C” Juried Show, Jersey.
