Artist in Residence: Lisa Horrigan
On select weekends, local artists are invited to Ocean House to share their artistic vision and give a demonstration of their skills.
Enjoy a wine and cheese reception in the Living Room on Saturday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Throughout the weekend, catch the featured artist in action as the sea air, sweeping views of the Atlantic and more than 140 years of history serve as inspiration for a work of art.
Painting “en plein air” along the tree-lined streets of Philadelphia, Lisa Horrigan received a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design. After leaving the city, Lisa traveled extensively and lived in Switzerland. Returning home to Connecticut, she focused on watercolor and is an award-winning member of the Connecticut Watercolor Society. But gradually, oil painting became her primary medium. Lisa also began to sail competitively, which has made her marine art personal, adding another layer to her diverse subject matter. Horrigan’s fascination with figures, shapes, textures, light, and atmosphere is reflected in her work. She has been inspired by travel to Italy and France as well as New England, where she presently works from her studio in West Thompson, CT. Lisa’s paintings are in private collections in the U.S., England, and Switzerland.
Reservations for this event can be made by emailing Lisa Szaro at firstname.lastname@example.org. This event is open to guests 21 years or older.
