Artist in Residence: Bob Callahan
On select weekends, local artists are invited to Ocean House to share their artistic vision and give a demonstration of their skills.
Enjoy a wine and cheese reception in the Living Room on Saturday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Throughout the weekend, catch the featured artist in action as the sea air, sweeping views of the Atlantic and more than 140 years of history serve as inspiration for a work of art.
Bob Callahan is Managing Principal of Bob Callahan Design, an independent profes- sional graphic design consultancy in Stamford, Connecticut, specializing in the planning and creation of effective communication for selling, raising awareness, positioning and informing. Bob is also a photographer and watercolorist.
Bob’s experience over the past forty years include award-winning projects for IBM, UPS, General Electric, Chase Bank, People’s Bank, Arrow Electronics, TIG Reinsur- ance, and Yale Repertory Theatre, among many others.
His background includes an active association for over 25 years with the International Design Conference in Aspen, Colorado. Bob is a member of AIGA in New York.
Bob conducts workshops on The Art of the Sketchbook; the importance of maintaining a daily sketchbook in order to fine tune hand/eye coordination. During weekends as artist- in-residence at Ocean House Bob leaves his drawing and watercolor sketchbooks around the grand living room so that guests can peruse the books.
Bob is married 60 years, has six children, eight grandchildren and three great grand- daughters. Bob and his wife Lucile live in Stamford, Connecticut.
