Plein Air Painter Reception: Jessica Shaffer

On select weekends this summer, notable artists are invited to Ocean House to share their artistic vision and give a demonstration of their skills.

Enjoy a glass of wine and reception at Ocean House on Saturday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. to meet the artist. Earlier that day, catch Jessica Shaffer in action as the sea air, sweeping views of the Atlantic and more than 150 years of history serve as inspiration for a work of art.

About Jessica Shaffer

Rhode Island artist Jessica Shaffer shares her appreciation of coastal living through her plein air landscape paintings, working with watercolor and oil media. Drawing upon three decades of study and research as an ocean engineer, Jessica applies her understanding of the sea to her artistic process. Her paintings capture the energy and tranquility of the coastal environment with vibrant colors and dynamic brushwork. Immersed in the beauty of nature, Jessica integrates her love for outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking into her creative process, enabling her to capture unique vistas first hand. She is an artist member of Harbor View Artisans in Wickford, R.I. and her works have been exhibited across Rhode Island.
