Artisan in Residence: Dora Szekely

An introductory jewelry class where you learn how to make two pairs of Sterling Silver earrings with gemstone beads and earwire. The first, a simpler design, will give you practice on shaping a coil and would be a perfect pair to gift! The second, chandelier earrings, will be a step up in technique and require more time. You will have a choice in gemstones. These you’ll want to keep for yourself!

You will be using cold connections (no soldering- working with flame) to create the earrings. You will learn how to manipulate silver wire, form it into shapes, strengthen it and polish it pair simple the second pair more complex. This is where you learn the secrets of jewelry design, and how to use the tools required for a professional result. Walk away with two pairs of sterling earrings and display your creation or gift as an exceptional homemade craft.
