Artisan in Residence: Dora Szekely

Meet jewelry making artist, Dora Szekely, who began her jewelry designing in Italy prior to crafting here in downtown Westerly. As the daughter of an award-winning local photographer and well-known Hungarian sculptor, she has grown up with artists around the world, and grown an appreciation and love for the arts as an innate part of who she is. Szekely began formal silversmith training through an apprenticeship at the age of thirteen and now owns a business, “Liv and Lov”: Ethical, Eco and Custom Jewelry, specializing in custom fine jewelry made from materials directly sourced from small cooperatives.
