About the Artisan

J. Susan Cole Stone is well known for her attention to detail, particularly in her architectural and wildlife paintings, Susan Stone’s work is in private collections across the country and in such far-flung places such as Australia, Italy and France. Susan is able to render a detailed and accurate architectural drawing or painting from life, from blueprints or even the concept sketched out on a napkin. Her experience extends to illustration, having illustrated many books, publications and many commercial graphics projects. Watercolor is her favorite medium followed closely by pen & ink and colored pencils.  She teaches classes in those mediums and in perspective drawing as well as basic drawing.  She says, “I learn as much from my teaching and my students as they do from me.” Susan is an Elected Artist member of the Mystic Museum of Art in Mystic Connecticut, a member of Strawbridge Art League in Melbourne, Florida, the Brevard Watercolor Society, and the Brevard Council of the Arts, both of Brevard County, Florida, as well as the Florida Watercolor Society.
